Instructions
- Finely chop the yellow onion. Combine it with the ground beef or ground turkey, table salt, and black pepper, then shape the mixture into four even patties.
- Keep the raw patties and raw juices away from ready-to-eat foods, utensils, and surfaces. Wash hands and any contacted surfaces before handling cooked food.
- Cook ground beef patties over medium-high heat until the centers reach at least 160°F (71.1°C) on a food thermometer. If using ground turkey, cook the centers to at least 165°F (73.9°C).
- Top each patty with one slice of cheddar cheese or vegan cheddar during the final minute of cooking. Serve the patties hot.
