Instructions
- Mince the garlic. Combine the olive oil, lemon juice, garlic, thyme, table salt, and black pepper in a nonreactive container.
- Add the chicken breast or turkey breast, turn to coat, cover, and marinate in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.
- Heat a skillet over medium heat. Remove the poultry from the marinade and discard the used marinade. Keep the raw chicken breast or turkey breast and raw juices away from ready-to-eat foods, utensils, and surfaces.
- Cook the chicken breast or turkey breast until the thickest part reaches at least 165°F (73.9°C) on a food thermometer, about 6 to 9 minutes per side depending on thickness.
- Move the cooked poultry to a clean plate and let it rest for 5 minutes before slicing and serving.
